Champions League returns to RAI

RAI has secured rights to the Champions League as part of a sublicensing agreement with Sky Italia. The European cup competition will return to the public broadcaster in a three-year deal from the start of the next season. It will be able to screen a match featuring an Italian team on Wednesday nights. It will also broadcast two semi-finals, the final and the European Supercup.

Earlier this year, Sky picked up the rights to the Champions League and second tier competition the Europa League.

Until this season the rights had been in the hands of Mediaset.

RAI has also been granted rights for the Italian national teams qualifying matches for Euro 202o, shared with Sky, World Cup 2022, a new Nations League and international friendlies.

It will be visible to all Tivusat decoders with a valid card.
